“ Thank you for the care that you have shown us over the past year at Cardigan. I still can't get used to not coming up there; looking to see if he was in the T.V. room or downstairs. The warmth with which every- one treated us was so above the normal care that you might receive at a nursing home. I loved the porch and the outside meals and the music, which I think sometimes, was more for me than Jim. It really helps to pass the time. That to was a special time with Jim, just holding his hand and listening to the music. I loved the dogs and cats too. Last year when people said you would become family I thought never. Well you have become family. From Karin consoling me daily when we first came (well maybe not just when I first came), you cannot imagine how many times I cried on her and Ruthie. To all the loving hugs for Jim and me, from Ruthie, to all the aids tender loving care, and the nurses who were with us to the end. Doctor Kenny being there till the end, he said he wouldn't let Jim suffer and I don't believe he did. To Inez and the kitchen friends...thank you. Susan with your quiet ways was always there when we needed her. Penny keeping Jim well groomed.
Thank you! You are a special group of people I can never thank you enough. If a person can have a good time even for what we were going through; we had one.
I will never forget the care and love you showed me and his children and grandchildren. I guess you can't tell the residence but we loved them too. The friendships we made with the other wives, was such a blessing. Thank you again, I'll be praying for you. ”
